What is click-to-dial?

Click-to-dial is a sales-productivity feature that lets reps place a phone call by clicking any phone number on the screen — in a CRM, on a website, in an email, anywhere it appears — instead of dialing manually. The call routes through your business phone system, so caller ID, recording, and CRM logging all happen automatically in the background. For outbound teams, it eliminates the dozens of micro-delays per day that come from copy-pasting numbers and switching between apps.

How does click-to-dial work?

Three things happen behind a single click. First, the click hands the phone number to Aloware's calling app (a browser tab or the Chrome extension). Second, Aloware places the call from your business number — applying local-presence area-code matching, your caller ID, and compliance attestations like STIR/SHAKEN. Third, when the call ends, Aloware writes the recording, transcript, duration, outcome, and notes back to the right contact in your CRM. The rep just clicks and talks.

What's the difference between click-to-dial and click-to-call?

They're effectively the same feature, named differently depending on context. "Click-to-call" usually refers to the button on a website that lets a visitor call a business; "click-to-dial" usually refers to the sales-side feature that lets reps click a number in their CRM or workflow to place an outbound call. Aloware's product is the second — reps clicking numbers anywhere in their tools to dial out.

Does it work with my CRM?

Does it work outside my CRM, like on LinkedIn or a webpage?

Yes — that's exactly what the Aloware Chrome extension is for. Once installed, it detects phone numbers on any webpage (LinkedIn profiles, company websites, Google search results, SaaS dashboards, anywhere) and turns them into one-click dial buttons. Useful for prospecting, lead research, and any workflow that isn't anchored in your CRM.

Do click-to-dial calls get logged automatically?

Yes — every call placed through click-to-dial is automatically recorded, transcribed, summarized, and synced to the matching contact record in your CRM, with timestamps, duration, outcome, and any rep notes attached. Reps don't write log entries, copy-paste call notes, or end the day with two hours of admin. The CRM update happens the moment the call ends.

Can I leave voicemails automatically?

Yes. Voicemail Drop lets reps pre-record common voicemail messages (intros, follow-ups, callback requests) and drop one with a single click the moment they hear the answering machine.
