What is a phone number validator?

A phone number validator is a tool that checks a phone number against telecom and carrier databases to confirm three things: that the number is correctly formatted, that it's still in active service, and what kind of line it is (mobile, landline, VoIP, toll-free, invalid). Sales and marketing teams use validators to clean their CRM data before they call or text — because every dial to an invalid number is wasted time, and every text to a landline is a deliverability problem.

What does Phone Validator by Aloware do?

Phone Validator scans your HubSpot contact list, automatically verifies and corrects the phone numbers, and writes the results back to the contact record. For each number, it tells you whether it's mobile or landline, whether it's still valid, what area code (and therefore what time zone) it belongs to, and whether it's a US number or international. Your reps then dial real, current numbers instead of dialing dead lines or texting landlines.

How does Phone Validator work with HubSpot?

It runs inside your HubSpot workflows. You configure a trigger — typically "contact submits a form," "contact enters a list," or "phone number field changes" — and Phone Validator automatically enrolls those contacts, validates the number against carrier data, and updates the HubSpot record in real time with corrected and enriched information. No CSV exports, no manual cleanup, no separate tool to log into.

Why does my contact data need cleaning?

CRM contact data decays fast. People change numbers, port mobiles to landlines, switch carriers, become unreachable. Industry studies typically estimate that 15–25% of a B2B contact list goes stale every year. If your reps are working from an unvalidated list, that's the chunk they spend dialing into voicemails and getting "this number is no longer in service" recordings — and the same chunk that drags down your sender reputation if you start texting it. Validation is the difference between a dialer that converts and one that grinds.

What's the difference between Phone Validator and Aloware's LRN Lookup?

They share underlying technology — LRN (Local Routing Number) lookup is one of the techniques Phone Validator uses to determine line type — but they target different workflows. LRN Lookup is a broader telecom utility that runs across calls, SMS campaigns, and list cleanup throughout the Aloware platform. Phone Validator by Aloware is a dedicated HubSpot app that focuses specifically on enriching and correcting phone numbers on HubSpot contact records. If your team lives in HubSpot, Phone Validator is the right product; if you're working broadly across the Aloware platform, LRN Lookup is built in already.

Can it tell if a number is mobile or landline?

Yes — that's one of the core functions. Phone Validator queries carrier and routing data to classify each number as mobile, landline, VoIP, or invalid. Mobile numbers are the ones you can text and that route to real people; landlines are voice-only and texting them either fails silently or gets your sender ID flagged. Knowing the type up front means your reps SMS the mobiles, call the landlines, and skip the dead numbers entirely.

Does it work for international numbers?

It primarily targets US and Canadian numbers, using North American telecom databases (LRN and carrier records). For international numbers, Phone Validator can identify them as non-US and segment them out of your US-focused dialing lists — so your reps aren't accidentally calling overseas. If you need full international validation across specific regions, talk to sales about coverage in those countries.

How much does Phone Validator cost?

Pricing scales by validation volume — pay only for what you check. Three tiers are currently published: $100 for 10,000 validations, $750 for 100,000 validations, and $3,900 for 1,000,000 validations. There's no monthly platform fee or per-seat charge — you buy a validation credit pack, and validations draw down against it as you use them. Custom pricing is available for higher volumes.

Phone Validator is in pre-launch as of this writing — the product is being finalized and select customers are getting early access.
